YOGA
What isYoga?
Yoga is a philosophical tradition that originated in India. The word Yoga means ‘union’, the union of all the different aspects of our being: the union of muscles and bones, movement and breath, thought and action, the union of all our aspects for concentration and contemplation, the union of the individual soul with the universal soul.
Yoga is an excellent training to stabilize health, to strengthen body’s defenses and to reduce symptoms of chronic diseases. Yoga balances the body, mind and soul. Yogic exercises involve vertical, horizontal, and cyclical movements, which provide energy to the system by directing the blood supply to the areas of the body which need it most.
Hatha-Yoga is a special form of Yoga, which balance body and mind by doing physical excercises (Asanas), by deep-breathing excercises (Pranayama) and meditation. The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind. Asana practice is moving into stillness and to feel the circulation of life energy (Prana).
The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with their environment. Hatha Yoga can be done by everybody irrespective of physical fitness and age. After a session you will feel not only relaxed but full of energy.
Why Yoga?
In yoga, each cell is observed, attended to, and provided with a fresh supply of blood, allowing it to function smoothly. The ultimate reason for doing asana is being able to be still in the moment, free of physical discomfort with a focused and controlled mind that is not drifting.
Through yoga exercises that bend and stretch the spine, fresh blood and nerve flow revitalize all the major glands and organs. Unlike other forms of exercise, which develop fitness by stressing the body, yoga builds strength and endurance while lowering the stress hormones and increases the oxygen in the blood to fell free of fatigue.
Pilates
Pilates combines elements from yoga, dance and acrobatic. Pilates works several muscle groups simultaneously, with a particular concentration on strengthening and stabilizing the core. Specially the deep muscles of the belly and the spine are trained, which forms together with the pelvic floor the “Powerhouse”, that has a deep impact on an upright posture.
Josef Pilates has developed this training already at the beginning of the 20th century. His interest in physical fitness stemmed from a determination to strengthen his own body and to improve his health after a sickly childhood. Therefore he combined training methods from the east and the west. Soon he achieved with his method big success with dancers, athletes and people having problems with health.
The exercises are a harmonic interplay between breathing, activity, stretching and relaxing. Practiced faithfully, Pilates yields numerous benefits. Strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles are key components in an effective Pilates program. Tone and long lean muscles without bulk are built by doing Pilates. Pilates improves your posture. By developing strong abdominal and back muscles it can reduce or eliminate back pain. Therefore the training is specially recommended for all people suffering from back pain.
„In 10 sessions you’ll feel better,
in 20 you’ll look better ...
and in 30, you’ll have a whole new body“
